My name is Angee Friesen, and I have a passion and desire to create content and further myself in the media and entertainment industry.
I grew up in the suburbs of Saskatoon, SK, where I was fascinated by all arts, be it theatre, dance, visual, film, television, and so one. In high school, my interests were more focused on dance, film, and online media. I was mostly fascinated with the creation and development of music videos, especially those with choreography such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears.
After high school, I made the safe choice to stay at home and attend my local university. After a few years of taking classes and working retail part-time, I knew there was something more for me that was beyond my comfort zone. In 2015 is when I decided to make my move to Ontario to start my education in the media and arts. By 2018, I had completed an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies, with an honours minor in Cinema and Media Studies at York University.
After university, I found work here and there, but there was still nothing that filled the void I had been looking for all these years. It was in 2021 where I decided to start a new chapter in my life and go back to college to get a Graduate Diploma at Fanshawe for Advanced Filmmaking. This program was unlike any other I had enrolled in before; it was all skill-based and hands on working. I was able to create a short documentary and a short narrative film in just a few months. In the last few years I have worked freelance for editing and producing products for commercial use, and working in marketing and sales at this current time.
